The Dons clinched the Channel League by finishing a sweep of Ventura. The Dons started Grant Galitzer who went 3+ and was relieved by D'Mac. D'Mac closed out the 4th and pitched a solid 5th and 6th. T. Moropolous came in to close and gave up a couple of bleeder singles and the Dons committed and error to make things interesting. A ground ball to Morison at Short for a force ended the threat and gave the Dons a Channel League Championship. Once again solid defense and timely hitting gave the Dons their final win making them 10-2 in league. It was a great season and a great start as part of the Dons Baseball Program. Thank you Coach O for a great year!

In a game that had the lead in the Channel League at stake both teams played nearly flawless baseball. Don's ace Trevor Moropolous had command of all his pitches using them to hold Ventura to 2 hits en route to his second shutout. One base runner got to third, other than that Ventura could mount no scoring threats. Both D's were a pleasure to watch. The Don's could only manage 4 hits; 2 by D'Mac, and one each by Schroeder and Tribble. The only run of the game was scored when Schroeder walked, stole second, advanced to third when the ball squirted away from the catcher and scored when a pitch went off the catchers glove on the only 2 catching miscues of the game. That was in the 5th and Moropolous made it stand up for the win to keep the Don's alone atop the Channel League.

Good team win, everyone contributed starting with another solid pitching performance from Grant Galitzer. Galitzer went 4 strong giving up no hits and 2 walks. Daniel McKinney finished for the final 2 giving up 2 hits and never any serious scoring threats. The Defense was very solid as usual with 2 double plays and another diving catch in Center by Schroeder. Offensively it was a team effort with Stephen Denlinger having a big day with 2 hits and a clutch bases loaded single to get things going. D'Mac and Loza also had a multiple hit day with the rest spread throughout the lineup. The sweep of DP kept the Don's atop the Channel League with the next game at Ventura on Tuesday. The Don's are 8-2 in league.

The Don's defense was outstanding with catcher Christian Loza throwing out 2 runners in key situations. Grant Galitzer did a very good job of pitching out of trouble in the first few innings due to a few Don's errors. Galitzer held the score to 4-3 until the 5th as the D tightened up.Huck Hebert had a key hit to put SB up 4-3. In the 6th Morison opened the inning with a double, Schroeder walked a 7 pitch AB, Moropolous hit a shot to the fence in the Right/Center gap scoring 2, then D'Mac went yard with a BOMB to mark a quick 4. By the end of the inning SB had marked 8. The final was 11-3.

The Don's got out of the gate fast with a leadoff double by Bryce Morison, culminating in a 3 run first. Morison, Schroeder, Moropolous, Mckinney, Loza had multiple hits. Frank Tribble had a big day with 3 hits and 2 extra base hits. Trevor Moropolous cruised through 5 full giving up 1 hit, 0 runs and only 55 pitches. In the 6th a couple hits and a walk brought in D. McKinney to finish it out. Following San Marco's big inning D'Mac lead off the next inning with a double turning the momentum back to SB who eventually scored their final 2 runs. D'Mac pitched a scoreless 7th to lock down the win. On defense Morison made another web-gem that he turned into a double play. Grant Galitzer made a great diving catch in the 7th to help close it out. Next game Monday at Buena.

The last hit and score was by Huck Hebert, not Murray. Sorry about the goof.

Dons got on base consistently through the first 3 innings and ran themselves out of all 3. Daniel McKinney remained steady and consistent on the bump through the offensive issues. Tribble started the rally in the 4th and had help with a single from Galitzer and a walk to Murray and Morison. With 2 out and the bases juiced Schroeder hit a line single up the middle to start the breakout. Moropolous then hit a 2 RBI single. In the 6th D'Mac hit a bases loaded laser to the wall in LeftCenter extending the lead to a comfortable level. M. Murray had a solid hit and then scored for the final run. D'Mac pitched 6 quality innings and Moropolous shut the door in the 7th. The Defensive highlights were a diving catch in center by Schroeder, and an unbelievable play by Morison horizontal over the middle.
